The proposed project aims at providing a beacon light for navigators used in shipyards, sea shores to direct and warn ships about hidden rocks. The project requires a microcontroller of 8051 family that produces flashing lights from a lamp at specified intervals. For this purpose, a lamp of low voltage 12V is used that is driven by a power MOSFET in PWM mode. With the kind of application used the PWM duty cycle is changed. A controller provides only 5V drive, therefore MOSFET cannot be switched ON at this voltage therefore a transistor is used that interfaces between the controller output and the MOSFET. |
