Industries have a variety of production lines that operate day and night, developing different products. The production lines always work on their targets, production targets are to be completed on time for lines to keep functioning efficiently. But the first step towards completing production targets is the ability to be able to keep a count of the production status and display it along with the current target. This helps managers and workers to know current status and work accordingly to achieve the target.
The industrial production target counter and display system provides following advantages:

  • Sensing the current finished product count using sensor
  • Displaying Target and Achieved Production status live
  • Keeping count of production status till it is achieved
  • Keep workers and managers in track with live status
  • Sounding buzzer and congratulation message on target completion

The system makes use of a STM32 controller along with a proximity sensor, buzzer, LED display board 16 x 32, Keypad, basic electronics components and PCB board to develop this system. The system will allow for an automated and streamlined production counter display.
The STM32 controller uses an LED display to interact with the user. The system has 2 modes:

  • Settings Mode
  • Running Mode

In Settings mode the system allows user to set the current production target. The user may increment and decrement the count value to set todays production status. After setting it the user may exit settings mode. After setting target the user may enter running mode. The system is now n live counting mode. The system now monitors the proximity sensor. For demonstration we just use one sensor, when this concept is put to use, many such sensors will be use.

The finished product when dropped of slid by the worker into finished product bin will be detected by the proximity sensor. Each such product inserted, triggers the proximity sensor which then sends a signal to the STM controller. This controller now increments the product count by 1 on each product finished. As soon as the current status reaches the target count the system assumes production completion. At this time the controller sounds the buzzer and displays production target completion, message on the LED display board.
