A Dual-Soft-Handoff Scheme For WLAN

(WLAN) Wireless Local Area Networks are widely used these days to setup, corporate as well as domestic networks. Packet loss caused due to handoff latency during the time when mobile node accesses different access points may result in real time application issues at times. Our system puts forward a proposal for an effective soft handoff mechanism through dual handoff. At a time 2 active links are maintained by MN for forwarding as well as backward transfer of AP’s. These handoffs are never kept simultaneous in order to ensure that at least one data thoroughfare always exists. A seamless data transmission is achieved during it’s fast motion. The results of this simulation validate this is feasible in WLAN’s while the MN is moving at 120km/hour.
